Community Service

The Newcomers Club strives to contribute to the community it calls home in several ways.

Volunteer Recognition

We encourage all members to donate their time to any of the fine groups in our community and nation that need it. The Newcomers Club recognizes this work, the Community Service committee tracks volunteer times and issues an award at the end of the year to the member volunteering the most hours. At the Installation Luncheon in May, that volunteer is recognized for their work and their hours donated to an organization.

2008-09 Volunteer of the Year is Sandy Suchy and a monitary donation will be sent to CASA the organization of her choice.

Please remember to turn in your hours of service to Beverly Weiner at the coffees or by e-mail to:

Donations to Charities

We are a non-profit independent group.

The money collected from member dues, sponsor fees and other sources is used to cover the Club costs and to make charitable donations on behalf of the Newcomers Club. We strive to keep our expenses low because the remainder is donated as cash gifts to several local charities.

"You must give something to your fellow men - even if it's a little thing, do something for others - something for which you get no pay but the privilege of doing it."
